week 10

Questions
 1) What does this meant by the following statements?

Trust is not associative (non-symmetric)

This means that the trust is not necessarily the same on both sides of the transaction or any other situation. A simple example, I believe my wife remembered my mother's birthday card. This does not mean that my wife would believe that I remember after another to her mother. In an example of a commercial is, the seller may believe that the buyer will be the transaction and transfer of funds of the product or service, but the buyer may not have the same number of believe, the seller will provide what they promise.

 Trust is not transitive

I believe that what is the meaning of this sentence, don't believe the association from one side to move to the next. For example, if a trust wholesalers that does not mean they will automatically trust retailers and wholesalers sell their products.

Trust is always between exactly 2 parties

This sentence means any transaction trust between the two sides of the transaction. For example, in a manufacturers sell to wholesalers, wholesalers to retailers, retailers and wholesalers to provide goods only needs to trust. The same retailers may not even know the manufacturer, the manufacturer located in between trust and wholesalers.

Trust will involve either direct trust or recommender trust

Recommendation trust is a trust third party. For example, if the manufacturer trust wholesalers, they would recommend them to another manufacturer, assuming that the manufacturers trust suggested they would most likely recommend trust.

http://www.eBay.com.au

EBay -- is a reliable, because it has a buyer protection policy, protect the customer from the member being ripped off. This allows members to use this website and confidence, do not have to worry about the victim of fraud.

PayPal, is a highly secure web site, because it is very professional and a respected reputation in the world. The website "security" very thoroughly, the PayPal easily do not put the customer security problems.

2b) Find a web site yourself that you think looks untrustworthy.

I hold the opinion the website looks is not reliable, because it has a very basic design and advertising the price seems too good to be hardly worthy of belief. I don't have the confidence to buy flight on this site, because there is no large airline website shows, even logo website looks amateurish.

week 9

This week we study channel conflicts, there is no question left on the web page. Hence, I list some information about channel conflicts.

Access to the Internet to the buyers the chance, may influence what they buy, when and where they put their business.

The seller can reach a large number of any time of the day and beyond geographical restrictions on their store.

Channel conflict occurred in the product or brand owners began sold directly to consumers, reduce the wholesalers and retailers.

Channel conflict can be defined as any of the same brand of two different sales or distribution channels are competing for the same.

Channel conflict occurs between a brick and mortar offline storage and the same shop online shop sales staff feel threatened.

Can be directly conflict, internal or external.

Conflict can be found at any stage of the business process including pricing, order processing, delivery, service and repair, customer service and resistance to change.

If there is no strategic brand management conflict may "erosion".

Brands and retailers cannot rely on customer loyalty.

week8

Q1: eBay is one of the only major Internet “pure plays” to consistently make a profit from its inception. What is eBay’s business model? Why has it been so successful?

EBay's business model is the surrogate model. EBay acts as agent, so that buyers and sellers together, list of expenses listed products sold on its Web site and a committee. EBay has been so successful is that it starts with the first production agent through the Internet business model. The development of a "community" so you think you are dealing with individual (you), which makes it more personal.

Q2: Other major web sites, like Amazon.com and Yahoo!, have entered the auction marketplace with far less success than eBay. How has eBay been able to maintain its dominant position?

EBay is able to maintain their dominant position, because they are in order to better, continuous improvement. Compared to their minimum cost Amazon.com hold the stock, and then packaged and issued the stock itself while eBay does not hold any stock. And all the postage and project related costs paid by the customer.

Q3: What method does eBay use to reduce the potential for fraud among traders on its site? What kinds of fraud, if any, are eBay users most susceptible?

Mainly using the methods of eBay, to reduce the potential for fraudulent traders use feedback on its Web site. This feedback is by the buyers and sellers on the site. Every time a transaction occurs the buyer needs to leave the sellers feedback and visa. The feedback from the rating, can be positive, neutral or negative, and a brief comment. This feedback on the man and then create a percentage. These comments and ratings can be anyone in the eBay community, so they can see the other members affairs that they and specific members. EBay members will attempt to identify a concept, is part of a community. This member "understanding, the role they play in a larger community, a set of common values and acceptable behavior and their unacceptable behavior, as a member of the reward, a fair community members" (Rappa, 2005). Rappa (2005), "the value of community they really must seep in its growing membership in the larger community and the importance or internalization". EBay has by eliminating another fraud is sold, all the members of a project must offer paypal as a payment method. If the payment through PayPal, the buyer does not accept the amount they will buy goods through paypal. Seller's downfall was charged to use paypal.
The fraud eBay users to more easily:

When a member to buy and pay for an item, the seller is not sent to the project.

When members buy and pay for an item may not match the description of the project, it is not what they want.

Q4: eBay makes every effort to conceptualize its users as a community (as opposed to, say “customers” or “clients”). What is the purpose of this conceptual twist and does eBay gain something by doing it?

The formation of user goals as a member of the community are more likely to feel they are part of the concept. Members are not only seen as a member to other members, but people in the same community, those who want the same things, have the same goals and objectives. This means that members of the community to see each other as their potential customer or retailer and ebay but they do business. Yes, eBay will be the concept of change should make members more reliable, more worthy of trust each other, less likely to another member participate in fraud.

Q5: eBay has long been a marketplace for used goods and collectibles. Today, it is increasingly a place where major businesses come to auction their wares. Why would a brand name vendor set-up shop on eBay?

A brand manufacturers will be set on the eBay store many consumers to shop with the store. And lose customers other business online, they used the online. It can be regarded as a "means to expand their business to reach new customers, explore the different pricing products" (Rappa, 2005).

Q6. I have a few businesses, and I have used eBay for about 12 years on and off. Currently I have about 600 books listed on eBay (seller name ozrural). I stopped selling on eBay for a few years but they changed the rules this July and it is viable again (for me). What do you think changed?

EBay changed its list of charges books and music. According to the charging system I know is now a fixed system, from a seller's to spend less, more feasible sales of sellers to sell the project with low cost. Additional optional tasks: if not member, join eBay and explore the website function (optional). Consider to buy, sell or hand. The auction is affecting all aspects of the business, so it is very useful to understand how they work.

Chinese room test shows that, the test cannot be used to determine whether the machine can think. Computer test that uses symbols to identify information, if these symbols to manipulate the Turing test would fail, because they have no understanding of this situation. Without this understanding, they can't really be described as a mode of human thinking.

Hence different and huge number of things such as appear, structure are required to exist in a web site, which is imposable. Hence, the organization need to adjust the web site to please the changeable customers’ requires continually.

Present means the appearance of a person or organization on the World Wide Web. Also the social network profiles and the search engine ranking, traffic, popularity and backlinks are also included. All of these things contribute to the overall effect of a design’. This is a quote from one of the articles on web design linked on Web pages that suck. Find a web page that ‘does not suck’ and discuss the features that make it work

The web site of Cathay pacific is a does not suck web site in my mind, because it has a simple and easy for using structure. First of all is the language chose button, which is very humanization design. And the ticks booking system directly show how to using. The color of the web is same as its company’s airplanes. Furthermore, the web site include the relevant information and service such as hotel booking and the information of the airport and check in manual etc. nevertheless, the web site is still clear, because the main parts represent on the first page and the detail follow by click link. Therefore, it is easy for using and beautiful web site.

For instance, every company want to sell a new product, it will arise a foretaste first, and collection the feedback for the market. Therefore, we can make the kind of technology companies for selling data for the organization that they want the data and information.

How realistic is the description of governments using the technology and prohibiting immigration from states with no AmI data aggregation information?

Generally speaking, it is not allowed that immigration reside the country before knowing about them by government. However, the collection of AmI data aggregation information will usefully help the government to reduce the process of immigration because the information has already been known.

II. Defiation

E-commerce is transacting business by using the Internet and the Websites. Or more officially, commercial transactions between and among organizations and individuals digitally(Laudon & Traver, 2008). E-business is “the digital enabling of transactions and processes within a firm, involving information systems under the control of the firm(Laudon & Traver, 2008).”

I. Internet risks- give examples of four things that can go wrong with a transactional site?

First of all, the biggest issue that we must face is the security problem while we use the transactional website. As a customer may not only loss the money, but also personal information. And the company may loss the trust of their customers. Furthermore, we will face the difficulties and problems, when we are using the transactional websites. Communication is more difficult than normal business as face to face. Therefore, this a big challenge for customer service of online-business. Moreover, it is hard that distinguish whether the goods, which be displayed on the screen, is good or not, because the goods are not touchable and may use the fake picture. Finally, the transactional website wills loss the customers who have not a computer or knowledge or skills such as old people.
